What do a Principal Law Librarian, Professor of Theater, Professor of Art, A Hockey Coach and a plethora of other Umaine, DHHS and other state employees have in common? They all make more than the Governor, according to a Bangor Daily News article published last weekend. And I'm by no means suggesting the governor is under-paid. And in an article in today's BDN, Baldacci seemed shocked the state is dishing out this kind of money in salaries, calling the article "eye opening" and commenting he'd "like to know how to get a job like the former [UMaine] chancellor has." Yeah, at $208K/year, wouldn't we all. In fact, in the BDN list of "More than 950 Maine State, University, Judiciary and Legislative Jobs that Pay $75,000 or more", the University of Maine System sticks out like a sore thumb (even more than DHHS).

The next time I get a call from UMaine asking me to donate money I'm just going to laugh and hang up!
If this list had been published the day before the TABOR vote, you can be pretty sure it would have passed.
